We turned up unannounced and got a deluxe room for $195 with balcony. No valet parking and the underground parking is a tight squeeze, dirty, dark and confusing. The young female at reception not the friendliest of staff members. No mention of Hotel facilities and we had to ask about parking. It seems to take forever to register and request to take photo copy of drivers licence seems enuf paperwork to get a loan appln. The hallways are like rabbit warrens with large columns central in passages. In the room there is a ridiculous step up in2 bathroom and no tissues. Also no bottle opener. The curains to balcony did not have a cord opening and were confusing which side to pull aside with balcony door. The doorsil and the outer door frames were rotten and even the small concrete balcony (standing room only) was in need of maintenance. View was lovely during day and night. Around the light switch in bathroom were handprints and shower needed more attention to mould. The dial on air-conditioning was dirty. They did have nice bedding and 4 pillows. The black n white prints did not match decor of room. The room was large and had a cheap looking cafe style table and chairs for two. The carpet also had stains from what appeared beverage spills near the mini bar which was smaller than usual. No mini-bar price list or form for record of use. For an extra $5 we could have stayed at the Sebel 'Best Luxury Accom. 2009'.
